The International Association of Islamic Psychology (IAIP) was established out of a growing need to legitimize and standardize the emerging field of Islamic psychology.
Founded in 2017 with its inception going back to the early 1970's, our strategic goals include expanding Islam's role in advancing health and human understanding and increasing recognition of Islamic psychology as a theoretical orientation to understanding the human being and approaches to clinical psychology.
Our mission is to advance the development and application of Islamic psychology to enhance the understanding of human psychology and promote health and wellbeing for all people.
We aspire toward this by:
Initiating education opportunities for study and training in psychology within an Islamic paradigm
Providing certification to improve qualification and establish high standards of practice
Encouraging publication of research and scholarship in Islamic Psychology
Supporting research in theoretical foundations and practical applications of Islamic Psychology
